Theme: Professionalism, Competency, Visibility and Breakthrough

This year our beloved Association is 20 years old and we would like to personally invite you to attend our 20th National Conference being held June 20-21st, 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, which will hopefully bring together more than 200 local and international delegates.  The theme of our conference - Professionalism, Competency, Visibility and Breakthrough was chosen to reflect the directions MDA will be taking with our Strategic Plans for the next 5 years.

The key objective of this year's conference is to provide knowledge and skills to help members propel their professional careers to the next level. Many of the diverse areas dietitians work in will be covered by the content of the plenary and concurrent sessions. We hope our student members will also find something interesting to inspire them when they enter the working world.You can join the interactive case discussions, sharing sessions by fellow members and listen to real individuals talk about the challenges in adhering to diet and lifestyle to lead a better life so we can learn from our clients' perspectives. And to top it all, our international and local line up of eminent speakers will surely ensure you meet your learning goals and continuing competence requirements.

We have planned a student case studies competition. Members who have conducted innovative projects in quality improvement / patient-care or case management are encouraged to submit your abstracts to showcase your innvation or success to peers. These can be across the diverse areas of food service, community nutrition projects, clinical, work with media and other nutrition & dietetic-related areas.

This year we would like to also invite our fellow healthcare professionals such as nutritionists, nurses, doctors, and others to join us to learn more about the theory and application of nutrition and dietetics. During the lunch breaks, we will not only provide a scrumptious array of local cuisines but you can also learn how to cook healthily from the cooking demonstrations we will organise with our partners! You can also take time toview posters and trade expo and network with colleagues.

And of course, the conference dinner will be a fun event and provide a great opportunity for catching up with friends and colleagues!
